Trend and Tradition: Sania Maskatiya’s Evening Wear

Maskatiya formerly designed under the label ‘Chamak’ and, in 2009, launched her line titled ‘Sania Maskatiya.’ Since then, she has showcased her designs both in Pakistan and on the international circuit and her more recent exhibits include Fashion Pakistan Week, an exhibition in Mumbai, India, and a stock and display at the multi-brand boutique Soiree in Dubai.
Located in the affluent commercial area of Khayaban-e-Bukhari, Maskatiya’s flagship store has also generated quite a buzz over the last two years. In October, Maskatiya launched her ‘Dilkash Collection’ at PFDC Fashion Week. Currently, her design house is working on transforming the ramp collection into a more practical and wearable line of clothing which will be available nationwide at the end of this month. Presently, she is also designing haute couture and bridal ensembles for the upcoming wedding season on order.
As for the future of the label, Maskatiya wishes “to grow as a label and keep working hard.”
