Make-up artist, stylist and trendsetter, Rukaiya Adamjee made a comeback to the world of fashion and glamour with the opening of her new salon in Clifton.

Tucked away in the same lane as Koel Gallery and Café Flo, Rukaiya’s is an oasis of calm and serenity. A water fountain at the entrance and a pebbled path lead you inside a white-walled, dark wood interior which is fresh and soothing and serves as a respite from the hustle bustle of Karachi.

The event exuded Rukaiya’s energy, exuberance and passion, with celebrities and friends pouring in to express their support. The evening was managed by Frieha Altaf’s Catwalk, and ace photographer Kohi Marri clicked away as the night wore on, and the guests enjoyed the sushi and yakitori sticks. Rukaiya launched her bridal line on the same night, with an elegant mini-bridal show. Make-up is Rukaiya’s domain, but jewellery by Ali Javeri and bridal outfits by Umar Sayeed, HSY, Saadia Mirza and Karma complimented the make-up of the models Iraj Manzoor, Nadia Hussain, Ayaan and Amina Ilyaas, perfectly. Celebrities spotted at the event included, designers Shamaeel, Umar Sayeed and Sonya Batla, artist Amin Gulgee, and actor Arjumand Rahim.
