Reama Malik is the name behind a stunning brand of traditional jewellery called ‘Gold’ which conjures images of royalty in bygone times. For someone who says that she has always designed, dreamt and thought ‘jewellery’ before anything else, a look at her collection makes it all the more believable.

Reama’s collections are beautifully conceived. “At heart I’m of the old school. I am inspired by traditional, Victorian and eastern elements, as opposed to modern and newer experimental styles,” she says. Her latest collection, called the ‘Mehr Collection,’ named after her daughter Mehreen, showcased at the PFDC L’Oreal Fashion Week last year.

“My collection focused on how I could make a bride’s jewellery very special with a few must-have pieces for her trousseau. The collection was primarily polki diamond and gold. We used 21 karat gold, precious and semi-precious gems, pearls, especially from the South Seas, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and tourmalines,” she says.
