Another one of the many, many western brands to open a store in the coveted, popular location, Dolmen Mall, in Clifton is the American retail store, Nine West. The retail brand, which has outlets scattered worldwide, opened its 61st store in Karachi last month. The American franchise has been brought to Pakistan by Ayesha Ahmed and Asif Karim of Burj Fashion and mark its launch, they held an event at the mall, on Friday, June 15.

Held on the first floor, just outside the brand’s outlet, the evening proved to be a success despite the cramped location, as several guests continued to pour in. Models sporting all-black outfits and the gravity-defying Nine West heels mingled with the guests. The chief guest of the evening, US Consul General William Martin, spoke of the economic benefits of the two countries working together.

The new Nine West store offers everything from accessories such as hats, watches and jewellery to their ever-popular bags and shoes. However, judging by the hefty price tags — the shoes range from Rs 6000 to Rs 10,000 — only the well-heeled may be able to afford them.
