Pakistani women today are becoming increasingly independent and many are stepping out of traditional roles. With this in mind, Nabila Fatima and her team of three designers created their very own label Black n White, in April 2011, aiming to cater specifically to the independent and confident women of Pakistan.

January 30 was an important date for Black n White as it was the day they launched their flagship store at Dolmen Mall on Tariq Road. Nabila Fatima and her team hope to keep women abreast with the latest cuts and styles. Black n White specialises in comfortable and affordable yet trendy outfits. They have three lines, Kurtaan, Chic and Dusk, each of which caters to different dressing needs ranging from casual clothes to eveningwear. And at the launch, the designers emphasised that the demure cuts of their clothes ensure that women don’t have to worry about wardrobe mishaps or unwanted stares at the office.

Model Nadia Hussain inaugurated the event and the launch featured a mini fashion show with models such as Iraj Manzoor and Abeer Adeel sporting everything from funky animal print dresses to understated pleated chiffon outfits. The small corner-shop was rather crowded but once Nadia started browsing through the racks, all media personnel instantly flocked to her, finally giving the guests some space to breathe.

The dark interior of the store was elegantly decorated with white gladiolas and the launch of the new brand, organised by Tehmina Khaled, attracted a stream of visitors who merrily walked away with discount vouchers.
