Peng Qureishi is a known name in Pakistan’s beauty industry with nearly 33 years of experience as a hairstylist and beautican. And this January she celebrated the launch of her fourth salon, Peng’s Hair and Beauty Clinic, which was attended by her loyal clientele as well as celebrities such as actress Sarwat Gilani and VJ Ayesha Omar. Located in the same lane as Xander’s and Ensemble in Clifton, Peng’s offers a wide variety of services, including Guinot face and body treatments since she is the sole licensed trainer and distributor for the skincare brand in Pakistan. She also offers special birthday and student packages and the fourth floor of the salon is a training area for aspiring beauticians. The launch also featured a beauty show with models sporting a variety of looks, ranging from classy to dramatic.

Originally from Malaysia, Peng went to a beauty school in London and settled in Karachi after marrying a Pakistani businessman. Her son Shammal Qureishi and daughter-in-law Redah Misbah, the daughter of Depilex owner Mussarat Misbah, are in the same line of work as her and were present at the launch to support Peng.

The launch saw a steady stream of visitors and the spacious salon was filled to capacity. It was a busy night for Peng as reporters and cameramen jostled each other to get closer to her but Peng, always with a smile on her face, never tired and reminded everyone that she was doing all this for her clients who have been loyal to her for decades.
