Umbereen Sharmeen is known for its exclusivity and elegance. The two sisters behind it started their business in 1997 with block prints and screen prints, and their focus was formal collections. Their business has grown since then and so has their repertoire. Umbereen now manages a workshop and a boutique in Karachi where she designs her exclusive bridal and couture range, while Sharmeen manages their concern in Lahore and Islamabad. Umbereen and Sharmeen do not want to be known as designers, but as artists. Their collections are anything but commercial. Each piece is designed like a piece of art with a focus on detail and quality. Their prêt line includes creative and affordable pieces, with bold and brilliant colours.

Troubled by terrorist attacks and sectarianism, Umbereen says that this recent collection reflects back to a time when different religions and cultures co-existed in perfect harmony. This line pays tribute to the heyday of the Mughal Empire, in all its glory and grandeur.
