Designer Asad Tareen brings forth a refreshing summer collection of formals and semi-formals made by a team of select designers under the label, ‘Maysoon.’ “White is the colour of summers in the tropical heat of Karachi. It gives a cool, relaxed look, all the while being classic,” says Qandeel, the designer who worked on this collection for Maysoon.

The outfits are cut in the Indian chikan kari fabric that is heavily textured and embroidered in monotones with Mughal patterns: delicate, fine details of paisley emblems are contrasted with straight lines and borders. Qandeel’s outfits come in figure-flattering, sufi-esque peshwazes and the regal-looking high-collared, full-sleeved, front-open kameezes. They are teamed with slim-fitted pants, giving the traditional silhouettes a modern twist.
