Back in 2008, a group of astronomy enthusiasts met up at a Partial Solar Eclipse session at the PIA planetarium. It was here that the Karachi Astronomers Society was born.
Since then the KAS has grown considerably and now has members around the country. This group of mostly amateur astronomers is bringing stargazing and science to anyone who is interested. They conduct star parties, telescope making sessions and astronomical discussion. The group also includes a number of photography enthusiasts who have captured some sublime images of the vast expanses of space.
The KAS shared some of these with Newsline.
