All great things make a comeback. The very traditional peshwaz and churidar pyjama are making forays into the fashion scene once again. They began as the garb of the Mughals, but the peshwaz and pyjama became a sartorial choice for special occasions like weddings before being relegated to the sidelines in the ’90s.

This year, the peshwaz is back in vogue, says the designer duo of the label, Rizwan Moazzam. And the two swear by the versatility of the dress. The billowy peshwaz and the tight-fitting churidars need no longer be restricted to weddings; the georgettes and chiffons embellished with traditional work, designed by Rizwan and Moazzam, make for perfect party wear.

So make way for this royal heritage in the days of capris and the kameez.
