Art Ki Talaash
In keeping with the ethos of engaging the public with art and art related activities, the Karachi Biennale Trust organized the event Art Ki Talaash which was successfully concluded last month. A scavenger hunt, but with a difference, the aim was to re-connect people with the history of the city.
It was fitting that the game kicked off at theNJV school, whichis itself a heritage site. Different teams were given a set of art-related clues and sent off across the city to sites that were as far-flung as the airport and the harbour, and from Gulshan-e-Iqbal to Clifton. Art Ki Talaash challenged the teams’ knowledge of and familiarity with the city all wrapped up in a fun-filled day with family and friends.
The day wound down with music, food and prizes back at the NJV school. As the exhausted but happy teams poured back into the campus, there was a carnival atmosphere waiting to welcome them. And while the results were being compiled, the participants were treated to an unplugged performance by Kristin Kanaria of Nescafe Basement fame.
Prizes were given to the winning teams by actor Tipu Sharif who was the chief guest for the evening and many other luminaries of the cultural scene in Karachi were also present.
With he success of this event, all eyes are now on what the Karachi Biennale project comes up with next.
