Jut when we thought that any Indian-Pakistani film interaction had fallen victim to the political tensions between the two countries, one more Indian film featuring a Pakistani actress in the lead is scheduled for release.

Saba Qamar stars opposite the wonderful Irfan Khan in what promises to be an intelligent social comedy. The plot centres around an ambitious couple who want to enrol their daughter in a prestigious English medium school to pave the way for her social advancement.  It examines the issues of class and superiority granted to the English language, a post-colonial hangover afflicting both India and Pakistan.

The trailer of the film looks promising and Saba Qamar holds her own well opposite an actor of Irfan Khan’s calibre.

Definitely a film to look out for, it is scheduled for release on 12th May.
