Samar Mehdi has long been known for her fusion of Asian elegance and western decadence. In this exquisite collection called ‘Ambience — the land, the woman and her man,’ the fashion designer takes inspiration from a mood board she did in college nearly 13 years ago on the mystical land of Rajasthan. But untypically, rather than highlight the vibrant colours and festivity associated with its culture, she chooses to focus on the flat tones of the arid desert land — hence the use of subdued shades of orange, maroon and grey.
