Screening: The Battle for Pakistan

The SAMAA TV/Newsline Films production The Battle for Pakistan has been selected for Mini-INPUT, a selection of international television films from around the world. It will screen at Karachi’s Goethe Institut on January 20th at 5 p.m.
Produced by Newsline Films with direction by Apnakam, the documentary investigates the nexus between madrassas and extremism in Pakistan. It was screened at Film Southasia 2009 and was among the 12 outstanding documentaries from the region selected for the travelling film festival TFSA.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the director, Maheen Zia, and producer, Tehmina Ahmed.
INPUT is an annual television showcase where the rules of international television broadcasting are challenged and redefined. Best of INPUT, also known as Mini-INPUT, is held in more than 30 countries to allow greater access for all.
This is an open and free event.
