Nickie and Nina collaborated with the Swiss Pakistan Society to stage a spectacular fundraiser fashion show at the Kempinski Hotel in Geneva on May 16. The money raised through the event was donated to the Pine Hill Academy School for hearing-impaired children.
The designer-duo showcased an extensive and vibrant line, celebrating the spirit of powerful women of the East through their Nur Jehan and Queen Rania collections. Both the collections had a wide range of beautiful eastern wear in jamawar, chiffon and silk, embellished with exquisite embroidery. The designers went one step ahead and presented a classic collection of saris and gowns in a plethora of colors and cuts which were a blend of the East and the West. Offering a stark contrast to this rhapsody in colour was their monochrome collection, fusing the traditional with the contemporary.
Choreographed by QYT’s Asimyar Tiwana, the show featuring Pakistani models Mehreen Syed, Sunita Marshall and Tooba Siddiqui who had teamed up with London-based models Shrina, Gina and Sadia Siddiqui, proved to be a sure-shot winner. Adding some more zing to the show was a power-packed performance by Ali Zafar. He sent his audiences into a frenzy with his energetic and foot-tapping numbers.
