Kiran Aman hosted a grand event to announce the opening of her first jewellery boutique. Tucked away in a courtyard at 76 Old Clifton in Karachi, Aman’s boutique, designed by Omari design studio, is a reflection of her jewellery pieces: tasteful with a focus on detail. Fashion designer Sonya Battla has been chosen as Kiran Fine Jewellery’s brand ambassador. The two creative and ambitious women have combined forces to create an exclusive brand for the “woman of substance.”
The event was well attended by the media, the elite and fashionistas alike. Stylist Rukaiya Adamjee and photographer Amean Jan were spotted in the crowd along with music sensation Faisal Kapadia of Strings. Models and TV personalities also joined in. The evening kicked off with speeches by the event manager Frieha Altaf and the brand ambassador, Sonya Battla. The invitees admired Aman’s exquisite designs and enjoyed the music and hors d’oeuvres comprising mussels and salmon that were served throughout the evening.
Aman says her work injects meaning into luxury, thereby making it more personal. Her jewellery is moulded from 18- to 22-carat gold carefully chosen for its strength and malleability and thus reflecting the women that she caters to. In fact, her book, Revived — the journey within, released on Women’s Day in 2008, tracked the journey of 14 women from the field of fashion and style. The designer recently received Nesvita’s Women of Strength award for the best jewellery designer and has showcased her collections at a number of platforms.
