Phenomena presented an exclusive showcase of the Spring Summer 2019 Accessory Collections of Michael Kors and Tory Burch by FAD at the launch of their latest studio in Dolmen Mall, Clifton last month.
The trunk show entitled ‘A Neon Night’ was inspired by international catwalks, Retro-80s trends, New York street fashion and the neon accessories in both the New York City-based labels’ S/S 2019 collections.
The chief guest of the event was the Italian Consul General Ms. Anna Ruffino, who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was followed by a meet & greet; a fashion presentation and petit fours and cocktails.
Saxophonist Danal Riaz opened the evening with a scintillating medley of contemporary sounds mixed with classics.
The fashion show curated by Pomme Gohar of Phenomena was divided into three capsules: white separates paired with Michael Kors and Tori Burch neon bags including Tory Burch’s fleming matte small convertible shoulder bag; black and neon separates dovetailed with the labels’ signature camel and neutral-hued bags including Michael Kors’ voyager medium crossgrain leather tote bag and a capsule of black eveningwear styled with jewelled clutches, including Michael Kors’ Barbara metallic envelope clutch.
Two sections of menswear looks were also presented, highlighting belts, bomber jackets, man-bags and briefcases.
The show’s choreographer Pomme Gohar made use of Dolmen Mall’s elevators as part of the walk. Hair and make-up was conceptualised by Beenish Pervez, who styled with hipster, top-knot man-buns and wavy curls for the women’s wear looks paired with neon accents on eyes and lips; and sleek looks for the men. The fashion ‘looks’ – including pairing accessories – were styled by DIVA Online’s FashionEditor, Zürain Imam. Beautiful bouquets of flowers were provided by Zerrita.
