Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has grown to become one of the highest grossing film franchises in all of history, amassing over $12 billion worldwide at the box office. Beginning with 2008’s Iron Man, each film has garnered both commercial and critical acclaim, while simultaneously creating a narrative that caters to fans of the comic-book rooted source material.

Last weekend at the annual San-Diego Comic Convention(SDCC), a haven for comic-book fans and film enthusiasts alike, a panel hosted by the cast and crew of Marvel’s upcoming ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ provided answers to many previously unanswered questions. The film’s trailer was screened exclusively to those present in Hall H and featured a mashup of Marvel’s most iconic heroes and villains, namely: Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Black Widow and the film’s primary protagonist, Thanos. Unfortunately, merely hours after the screening, a pirated version of the trailer, recorded by someone in the theatre at the time, leaked to the internet where it was shared and distributed amongst fans. The Russo brothers, by whom the film is directed, were delaying the trailer’s release so as not to overshadow this year’s ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, and to build hype for the movie.

Marvel has done their best to combat the video being passed around, with links uploaded to YouTube and Dailymotion being taken down. ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ releases April 23, 2018 and stars Chris Evans, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johannson, Chris Pratt and Tom Holland among many others.
