L’Oréal Paris celebrated its 100th anniversary of selling cosmetics and beauty products by holding events in both Karachi and Lahore. The event in Karachi, held at Park Towers, kicked off with a launch on October 9 that included the who’s who from the field of hair and make-up to celebrities, designers and media personnel.

The five-day event at the mall was held to introduce L’Oréal products to potential customers with a variety of activities happening each day. Hair stylists from Nabila’s offered tips on what style would suit each person, Peng Qureshi provided advice on better skincare and make-up experts from Nabila’s gave makeovers.

With the rush of people, eagerly trying on make-up and getting skin consultations, one felt the event could have been better organised since the L’Oréal representatives seemed a bit lost and were unable to guide people on what to do next. The skin consultation stand was a bit of a letdown since it seemed like the same skin regime was being advised to everyone. In addition, not all of L’Oréal’s skin products were available while some who did want to purchase a product were simply told to go to the nearest supermarket. Having a stall that actually sold the products would have been a lot more helpful and customer-friendly.
